About Timeless Records
Who we are
Timeless Records is an Auckland-based independent music label and artist platform. We work with artists at the point where talent outpaces infrastructure. Where the music is serious, but the team, tools, and opportunity have not caught up yet.
We are not a major label. We do not operate like one and do not want to. But we are also not telling artists to figure it out alone. The gap between those two positions is where most good music gets stuck. It is the space we are designed to operate in.
What we do
Label and artist development
We sign and develop artists, working across recording, release strategy, branding, and audience development. Every artist we work with gets real attention.
Live shows
We run two live show series in Auckland.
The Lineup is our alt-rock and indie rock programme, with monthly shows designed to put emerging acts alongside established ones. The aim is a bill where the audience discovers something new, and the newer act plays to a crowd that is already there for the music. We record every show.
Front Row Sessions is our intimate singer-songwriter series. Small venue, stripped back, focused on craft and the room. We record every show.
Platform for independent artists
We are building a platform for NZ independent artists, with tools for building a public presence, understanding your analytics, and selling music directly. There are pathways here: from working independently to working more closely with TR, depending on where an artist wants to go. This is early in development, and if you are an independent NZ artist with thoughts on what would actually be useful, we would genuinely like to hear from you.
The NZ Music Archive
We are building a public record of NZ music, with monthly chart number ones going back as far as the record allows. Where the data is clear, we follow it. Where it gets harder to trace, further back before standardised charting, we are interested in community knowledge helping to build the picture. The goal is to make NZ music history accessible, searchable, and properly acknowledged.
Why recordings matter
Recording used to mean audio. It still does. But in 2026 it means more than that.
A recording is proof that something happened: a specific performance, at a specific venue, on a specific night, by specific people. In a moment when AI can generate music on demand, the value of that proof is going up. The live performance is messy, real, unrepeatable. It is increasingly where the actual thing lives.
We record our shows because the live performance is the real thing. We keep a record of NZ music history because what gets documented gets remembered. We build infrastructure for artists because a career that is not tracked and visible is harder to build on.
The name is not accidental. Timeless Records is a label. It is also a record of who played, who made it, who showed up.
